Nevada Chiropractic Summary

The Chiropractic Physician’s Board of Nevada is dedicated to safeguarding the public by overseeing the licensure process and enforcing regulations that govern chiropractic practice.

The science, art and practice of palpating and adjusting the articulations of the human body by hand, the use of physiotherapy, hygienic, nutritive and sanitary measures and all methods of diagnosis. A Doctor of Chiropractic shall not pierce or sever any body tissue, except to perform venipuncture for diagnostic purposes.

Qualifications:

1. A chiropractor can perform a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam if they are a certified medical examiner (CME) listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) National Registry.

2. Nevada licensed chiropractors may not adjust or treat animals unless he or she has obtained a registration certificate from the State Board of Veterinary Examiners.

3. Any person who wishes to perform acupuncture must apply for licensure with the Nevada State Board of Oriental Medicine.

4. A doctor of chiropractic may perform dry needling if they have completed training from an approved organization.

5. Nevada licensed chiropractors may not perform surgery or dispense or prescribe drugs. Nevada licensed chiropractors may not puncture the skin except to draw blood for diagnostic purposes or are certified to perform dry needling.
