North Dakota Chiropractic Summary

The North Dakota Board of Chiropractic Examiners was established in 1915 to protect the citizens of the state by regulating the practice of chiropractic. The Board licenses chiropractors and certified chiropractic clinical assistants and disciplines them if they violate state law.

The practice of chiropractic involves the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients using various methods, including x-rays, diagnostic imaging, and clinical procedures taught by accredited chiropractic colleges. Treatments include adjustments or manipulations of the spine, joints, and displaced tissues, as well as physiotherapy, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy. Chiropractors can provide professional opinions, assess permanent impairments, and delegate basic care to certified assistants. Telehealth services are also included.
