Virginia Chiropractic Summary
Practice of chiropractic” means the adjustment of the 24 movable vertebrae of the spinal column, and assisting nature for the purpose of normalizing the transmission of nerve energy, but does not include the use of surgery, obstetrics, osteopathy, or the administration or prescribing of any drugs, medicines, serums, or vaccines.

Qualifications:
1. A chiropractor can perform a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam if they are a certified medical examiner (CME) listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) National Registry.
2. They must complete 200 hours of chiropractic acupuncture training from a CCE-accredited organization.
3. Chiropractors must have clinical training as part of their doctoral education or have attended a CCE-accredited college program for at least 12 hours.
