Advancing the Brain Science of Chiropractic for Association Leaders

State chiropractic associations are uniquely positioned to shape the future of the profession. That future increasingly depends on how well leaders can understand, articulate, and apply the growing body of neuroscience research supporting chiropractic care.

This multi-phase leadership education initiative, led by Dr. Heidi Haavik, is designed specifically for association boards and strategic advisors. It provides a clear, accessible pathway to understanding the modern brain model of chiropractic, without requiring a background in neuroscience or academic research.

The goal is simple but ambitious: to equip chiropractic leaders with the clarity, confidence, and shared language needed to move the profession forward together.

Program Structure at a Glance

This initiative unfolds over three live, interactive webinar sessions, supported by four structured learning courses, all intentionally sequenced to build understanding, confidence, and strategic insight over time.

Phase 1: Live Leadership Kickoff Session

  1. A 2-hour interactive webinar for board members and strategic advisors
  2. Designed to introduce the modern brain model of chiropractic in a clear, practical way
  3. Focused on leadership understanding, not clinical detail
  4. Sets the foundation for all learning that follows

Phase 2: Guided Learning Courses

Following the kickoff session, participants receive access to two structured learning courses that reinforce and expand on the concepts introduced live.

These courses focus on:

  1. Explaining the brain model of chiropractic in plain language
  2. Building confidence in communicating this model to others

Phase 3: Interactive Knowledge Check and Q&A

  1. A live follow-up webinar session
  2. Participants complete an anonymous, interactive quiz during the session
  3. Dr. Haavik reviews results in real time and explains areas of misunderstanding
  4. Allows leaders to identify and close knowledge gaps without pressure or embarrassment
  5. Creates a shared baseline of understanding across the group

Phase 4: Advanced Learning Courses

Participants then complete two additional courses, designed to move from foundational understanding to forward-looking insight.

These courses explore:

  1. The impact of chiropractic care on the brain’s major functional networks
  2. How decades of neuroscience research have reshaped our understanding of spinal function and brain health
  3. Why staying current with this research is critical for the profession’s credibility and future relevance

Phase 5: Final Strategic Discussion Session

  1. A final live interactive webinar
  2. Focused on implications, not just information
  3. Explores what this research means for:
  4. The profession as a whole
  5. Patient communication and expectations
  6. Frequency of care, maintenance care, and long-term outcomes
  7. Strategic direction for associations and their members

This is where leadership insight turns into leadership action.

PROGRAM INVESTMENT

Participation in the Advancing the Brain Science of Chiropractic for Association Leaders initiative is available to state chiropractic associations for a flat investment of $1,000 per association.

What Association Leaders Gain
