Indiana Chiropractic Summary
The practice of chiropractic will include and permit the use of such diagnostic and treatment procedures as are taught by board approved chiropractic colleges except as prohibited by law.

Continuing Education requirements
Practitioners are required to have completed twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education. Included within the twenty-four (24) hour requirement are eight (8) hours of approved courses in public health and/or risk management. requirements for educators
Under the statutory provision as listed below, if a program is designed to directly enhance the practitioner’s knowledge and skill in providing services relevant to the chiropractor’s profession or occupation and falls under an “Approved Organization” it is no longer necessary to apply for continuing education approval by the Indiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Qualifications:
1. A chiropractor can perform a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam if they are a certified medical examiner (CME) listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) National Registry.
2. The chiropractor must be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) who has completed training and is certified by an association like the AVCA, IVCA, or CoAC.
3. Chiropractors shall not perform surgery or direct the use of or administer drugs or other controlled substances.
