Kansas Chiropractic Summary

The chiropractic profession in Kansas is governed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA). Doctors of Chiropractic in Kansas are licensed to “diagnose and treat the human condition” with the exception of “medicine in materia medica, obstetrics, and the practice of surgery.”

Qualifications:

1. Yes, a chiropractor can perform a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam if they are a certified medical examiner (CME) listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) National Registry.

2. If acupuncture was taught as part of the DC’s curriculum in school, then no additional education is required. If it was not, then the 100-hour acupuncture course is required.

3. If dry needling was taught as part of the DC’s curriculum in school, then no additional education is required. If it was not, then additional education is required.
