Wyoming Chiropractic Summary

The Wyoming State Board of Chiropractic Examiners regulates the practice and licensure of chiropractic in Wyoming. The ultimate responsibility of the Board is to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Wyoming by ensuring that those individuals licensed to provide chiropractic services in the state are duly qualified.

In Wyoming, a chiropractors may treat the human body by the application of manipulative, manual, mechanical, physiotherapeutic or clinical nutritional methods for which those persons licensed under this chapter are trained and may include venipuncture, acupuncture and the use of diagnostic x-rays with rights for referral for advanced diagnostic imaging.

* Legally Accepted Terms for Chiropractor: (in addition to Doctor of Chiropractic, D.C., Chiropractor, Chiropractic Doctor): Terms listed above. A 1999 Wyoming Supreme Court decision found that the use of the term “chiropractic physician” was not prohibited under the statute.

Post-Licensing Education

Continuing Education requirements

CE shall be obtained September 1 to August 31 of the year of expiration. A minimum of eight (8) CE shall be earned at in-person conferences or hands-on training. A maximum of four (4) CE may be earned online. Link: https://chiropractic.wyo.gov/chiropractors/ce

requirements for educators

The Board shall accept CE directly related to the scope of practice defined in the Act sponsored by: (i) ICA; (ii) ACA; (iii) Any CCE accredited chiropractic college or university; (iv) Any state chiropractic association; (v) PACE; (vi) Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards; or (vii) Any state physical therapy association or the American Physical Therapy Association. Link: https://chiropractic.wyo.gov/chiropractors/ce

Qualifications:

1. Chiropractors must be trained in concussion management.

2. Can perform with additional training and certification.

3. Must have 24 hours of training to perform dry needling.
